GCT is TEQIP Sponsored institution under MHRD
- In TEQIP Phase I, a grant of Rs.14.5 Crores was received from MHRD.
- In TEQIP Phase II, Institution received a grant of Rs. 17.5 Crores for improving quality of Technical Education. In addition, funds were allotted for establishing two centres of excellence, namely “Alternate Energy Research” and “Environmental studies” with a funding of Rs. 5 Crores each. Under Centre of Excellence in Environmental Studies, centralized Instrumentation facility is established for Nano material synthesis and characterization. Under Centre of Excellence in Alternate Energy research, generation of electricity was made by 20Kw solar panel installation connected to grid.
- In TEQIP Phase III, a fund of Rs. 7 crores is sanctioned. For sustaining the activities of established CoEs, 3 Crores of additional funds is sanctioned. Institution has a privilege of being a mentor for two institutions, namely, (i) Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur and (ii) National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh under TEQIP III. The institute has been selected as a well performing CoE and received a performance incentive of Rs. 1 Cr. to continue/expedite research Collaboration with industries & Professional organizations, disseminate the research & developmental contributions for social and commercial use etc.
