The Department of Chemistry is one of the premier Departments in Government College of Technology. The faculty is well qualified and motivated with a strong commitment to teaching and research which is reflected on producing good result in Engineering Chemistry in I year Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering in higher semesters and also publishing original research papers in national and international journals.
Academic Programmes
The Department offers Applied Chemistry course in the first year and Environmental Science and Engineering course in the second year for all BE/B.Tech. Environmental Chemistry Course is also offered at PG level for ME Civil - Environmental Engineering.
The Department is a recognized centre for research by Anna University Chennai. The Ph.D. programme includes an integrated sequence of course work and research in various branches of Chemistry.
